Some dates start to take on a different meaning when we realise they can become part of our own story. A wedding is one of them. I’m planning to get married and, amongst the many decisions that are starting to crop up, one that has piqued my curiosity the most is choosing the dress.
Shopping for a wedding dress has been a fun experience, but also a bit tricky. There are so many different styles, cuts, fabrics and details. At times, I think I’ve already found exactly what I want. Then I come across another design and start imagining how it would look on the big day.
I haven’t decided what my dress will be like yet, and perhaps that’s precisely the best part of this moment. Before making a choice, I can look at different options and see which ones really match the vision I have for the wedding and, above all, suit me.
Whilst searching, I came across a few designs that really caught my eye. Rather than trying to choose just one, I decided to make a shortlist of five dresses that I’d seriously consider for my wedding.

The first design that caught my eye was a mermaid-style dress with a sweetheart neckline and lace detailing.
The more fitted silhouette makes the dress elegant and striking, whilst the lace adds that romantic touch that suits the occasion so well. The tulle fabric, embroidery and long sleeves also make a difference, particularly for those who like dresses that feature a special detail without needing too many embellishments.
It’s one of those designs I can picture at a more sophisticated ceremony, at any time of year.

The second choice takes a more classic approach. The dress has an A-line cut, long sleeves and lace detailing.
I’ve always loved the elegance of sleeved dresses, mainly because they manage to create a look that’s both delicate and sophisticated. The A-line cut also makes the silhouette appear lighter, without the bulk of a ball gown.
I’d consider this style for a more traditional ceremony or for a wedding at a time of year when temperatures are cooler.

The third design made the list because it offers a completely different look. It is a long lace dress with sleeves, inspired by boho style.
I can picture a dress like this at an outdoor ceremony, surrounded by flowers and nature. I like the idea of choosing a dress that suits not only the bride, but also the wedding setting.
The lace gives it a romantic look, whilst the boho inspiration lends it a more relaxed and less formal feel.

The fourth design is probably one of the most modern in my selection. It features a mermaid silhouette, thin straps, shimmering details and a slit.
It was precisely because it strays slightly from the traditional wedding dress that it caught my eye. Not every bride needs to choose a classic design, and I find it interesting when a dress manages to convey more personality.
The thin straps give the look a delicate feel, whilst the sparkly details add a touch of glamour. The slit also adds movement to the dress and offers a different option for those looking for something more contemporary.

To round off the list, I’ve chosen a style that’s completely different from the previous one.
This dress features a full skirt with a train and an A-line silhouette, a boat neckline and long sleeves, as well as pearl detailing, evoking that more traditional image of the bride that many of us have probably pictured at some point.
Although I prefer more modern styles, I still have a soft spot for romantic dresses with a striking presence. A design with a voluminous skirt has exactly that effect: it transforms the bride’s entrance into one of those moments that seem straight out of a film.
Perhaps that is why this was one of the hardest to leave out of my selection.
What caught my eye at Daisda
After spending some time browsing the collection, one of the things I liked most was precisely the variety. It doesn’t seem to be a range where all the dresses follow practically the same formula. There are mermaid styles, A-line cuts, dresses with sleeves, options featuring lace, tulle and embellishments, different necklines, and designs ranging from simple to more elaborate.
I also find it useful to be able to access information such as a size guide and find options that allow for customisation of colours and sizes. When it comes to such an important dress, these details can make all the difference when deciding on an online purchase.
I haven’t yet chosen the dress I’ll wear at my wedding, but I’ve already realised that looking at inspiration helps a lot in understanding what really suits me. And perhaps that’s the best part of this stage: being able to try out different ideas before making a decision.
For anyone else who’s also looking for a wedding dress and isn’t quite sure which style to choose yet, I think it’s worth taking a look at the collection and comparing the designs at your leisure. In my case, being able to find such a variety of styles in one place would certainly be an advantage, especially at this stage when I’m still figuring out what I want for my own wedding.
That’s why Daisda has made it onto my list of shops I’d consider when the time comes to choose my dress. I’ve still got plenty to decide before the big day, but I already know that a few of these five designs have really stuck in my mind.
